Jamie Karia, LCSW

Jamie Karia is a licensed Psychotherapist (LCSW), and Life Coach who has over 18 years of experience helping others. She draws upon her extensive knowledge in education, psychology, and clinical therapy when working with children, adolescence, young adults, adults, and seniors who are experiencing problems with: depression, crisis, anger, anxiety, bullying, career, family, stress, domestic violence, divorce, body image, self-esteem, trauma, parenting, relationships, bereavement, illness, substance abuse, assault, sexual orientation, and personal transitions. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Clark University, she went on to graduate from Yeshiva University Wuzweiler School of Social Work, where she obtained a Master of Social Work with a clinical degree. Wanting to enhance her knowledge, she further educated herself by completing a life coaching program plus finishing a two year Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) curriculum. In addition to her private client sessions, she has worked as a Psychotherapist in a high volume emergency room and Level 1 trauma center in a New York City hospital.  She has also been a site supervisor Psychotherapist in an outpatient mental health clinic and was previously a New York City Case Planner in Preventative Services and as an Educational Coordinator/Counselor. 


Jamie is a graduate of Coach U’s Core Essentials Program, enhancing her life coaching practice.  Recently she completed Dialectic Behavior Therapy Foundations Training from the Behavioral Tech A Linenehan Institute Training Company.  Jamie has comprehensive training in DBT (Directive behavioral therapy).

She incorporates positivity and coaching techniques in her therapy to assist in achieving one's goals. When working with others to better understand their thoughts and feelings, she uses a variety of modalities that includes: Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Object Relation, Art and Play therapy. Jamie has successfully helped individuals of all different ages build their confidence and love within themselves. She happily continues focusing on empowering lives.
